The first couple of episodes made me wonder .. but I kept watching ... and by
the end I was really disappointed that it was finished ... and what can I say
... the ending was brilliant as well.
Despite the fact that AD had no plot as such, the characters did stay very true
to themselves, even if the character development was missing.
Something in this review told me you went in looking for things you could rant
about ... in short, you watched Azumanga Daioh in completely the wrong frame of
mind. There's really not much I can agree to in this review ...
I don't really get where in the sound portion of the review you use the words
catchy and excellent ... with no bad remarks, yet you only give it a score of
7?
Anyways, a pretty detailed review overall, even if I would've rated it a bit
higher ...
Utawarerumono actually took my by surprise a bit ... it turned out to be a lot
better than I expected it to be. I really enjoyed the series, so much so that I
tended to keep watching instead of paying attention to things I should have been
doing
A note on the animation ... I didn't actually notice the variance until you
pointed them out .. and the start and end themes are permanently on my playlist
...
thats true ... but even so, those scenes which were the most emotional in the
original (and by original I mean the first anime adaptation) that appeared in
the remake just seemed incomplete. I would like to quote specific scenes here,
but I'm trying to avoid a spoiler factor here.
In any case, if you're watching the remake first its bound to have a much
greater impact than it would have had if you'd seen the 2002 version.
The plot was a bit murky, but it was there. I did find the flashbacks somewhat
annoying (but when aren't they), but I wouldn't rate Noir quite that
badly.
And while the art certainly wasn't above average, I find a 4 to be a bit low ...
I like the review ... one thing I would like to note though is that the remake
didn't seem quite as emotional as the original ... I can only point at the
directing of the series as a cause.
That said, I still think the remake was brilliant ... so I wasn't disappointed.
I really liked the review ... while I agree that my synopsis isn't the best one
around, Kanon is a very mysterious anime in many ways ... I haven't completed
watching the remake of Kanon yet, but so far in I'm really enjoying it. I had
some fears that the remake of Kanon would ruin the impressions I gained in the
first one, but so far those fears are totally unfounded.
I can only agree with this entire review.

I'd recommend you stay away from Lucky Star then.

Good review, makes me want to watch it again ...

Good review ... I haven't watched Kiddy Grade in enlish yet, so can't comment on the voices there ... but the japanese performances were topnotch ...
